~~iPod Touch: Got One~~

I bought an iPod touch the other day. But well, technically, it was dad who bought me the ipod touch, but then, I would have to say I have never bought anything in my life myself anyway.

I have to shamelessly admit and confess that I bought this thing entirely for show off and head turning purposes. My initial idea was to get a normal mp3 player, since up to now I have always lacked one. The first day I took the “baby” out for a run, half of the time I was wondering who would look at me with envy, jealously and hatred… lol… I have been reading J.R.R. Tolkien Unfinished Tales of Middle Earth. This is what ANY typical elf in the book would have commented,

Where the frailties of the human soul lie, there is economics.

Or in today’s context,

Where the frailties of the human soul like, there is Steve Jobs.

I also found out that I suddenly loved my dad like I never had been before and started putting it in my mind to do the laundry, talk to him more instead of blogging like an idiot and all the other little things. I hope that feeling lasts till the next week. Believe me: I wasn’t this enthralled when he promised to provide me education, shelter, food, warmth and love for the coming 20 years when I was born.

I am neither guilty nor ashamed of this of course:

For what is there to be ashamed or guilty of by being human and taking for granted all the things that are precious upon thee?

But then, I do find it a sad thing, for there is no competition against the instincts of the mind. Animals we are, has we evolved to the stage where intelligence can truly overwhelm the instincts and execute the rational decision rather than something which is gut? Of course, I don’t mean to say that this would become better for humanity in general, there is much research hinting that instincts and subconsciousness are very advanced evolutionary traits designed for survival.

But I wish there would come the day when I am able to control my mind to a very fine degree. Or perhaps being able to see it in motion is enough, which I am sure I am not able to right now.

Anyway, the main thing I wanted to blog about was the iPod Touch’s touchscreen, which is gorgeous. How the heck did I digress so far?
